Giving Thanks, and Giving
As we head into the Holiday season, everywhere you go, we are reminded to give thanks, and to give.
Here at Bass River, I am thankful that the Club has committed to looking to the future.
We are actively planning the success of our sports by increasing our outreach to the community, improving our operating systems, and encouraging women and youth to be a part of the club.
Thank you to our Board of Directors, Department Chairs, and Officers for your guidance and support for what our club is now and will be in the future.
Thank you to the many members who keep the club open every day. I appreciate what you do.
It is Giving Season, and we have 4 opportunities to help.
In this newsletter you’ll see information on-
1 – our Holiday Challenge that supports the community around the Club
2 – our Junior Rifle program
3 – our Junior Shotgun program
4 – GOAL and the Civil Rights Coalition who are working to keep our rights alive here in Massachusetts.
If you can, a donation of your dollars or time to one or all of these causes will help move us toward the future.
Our Club has gotten 171 “likes” and many positive comments on the Yarmouth PD Facebook concerning our latest Thanksgiving gift to the community.
Your efforts do help the goals we’ve set for the club.
Thank you,
Dan Paige Sr., President

Help Our Junior Shotgun Team On December 2nd!
|
|
|
|
|
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity celebrated annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, shifting the focus from shopping to giving. On this day, individuals worldwide come together to support causes they care about, making a significant impact through collective generosity.
When you donate to our Scholastic Shotgun Team on December 2nd we become eligible for special incentives:
Our Junior Shotgun Team will also be offered incentives to maximize the impact of our youth shooting program. The top five teams that raise the most donation dollars on Giving Tuesday will receive additional endowment awards:
1st Place: $15,000
2nd Place: $12,500
3rd Place: $10,000
4th Place: $7,500
5th Place: $5,000
Random Draw: Thirty additional teams will be selected at random to receive $1,000 each. All teams receiving donations on Giving Tuesday are automatically entered. These incentives give our team even more resources to support youth athletes and grow our program.
To make Giving Tuesday even more exciting, Midway USA will offer a sweepstakes for donors. Midway has partnered with SK Guns to give away an incredible pistol. They are offering a chance to win a limited-edition SK Customs "Alexander the Great" pistol. A limited-edition production of only 200 Colt 1911s in Royal Blue chambered in .38 Super. Every $1,000 donation to a Team Endowment on Giving Tuesday counts as one entry into the drawing.
To cap it all off, the MidwayUSA Foundation will match your donation dollar for dollar - you give $50, Midway matches it with another $50, and our endowment fund grows by $100!
Please mark your calendar and support our team on December 2nd!

Junior Rifle Update
Special thanks to Dan Campenaro, James Conrad, and Dave Fogel. Thank you, Chris Jolls, for setting up this new roster for Saturday morning and Wednesday evening RSO coverage. This has greatly improved my primary focus more on coaching.
A few of our Junior shooters recently joined me on a field trip to the Reading Rifle & Revolver Club to observe — and try out — their Junior Air Rifle and Smallbore Program. The visit made something very clear: it’s time for us to start discussing the development of an air rifle program at Bass River. Colleges actively scout air-rifle athletes and offer scholarships. When a student can move away to college and seamlessly step onto a shooting team, it provides a built-in support system — a coach who looks after them, teammates who have their back, and peace of mind for parents.
If you have 22 ammo, 22 bolt action, left-handed or right-handed rifles with iron sights that you would like to donate, please contact Greg Gniadek (508)-564-0517, greggniadek@hotmail.com
Thank you to all of you who have already made generous donations to the program.
Shooting remains one of the safest youth sports, yet for reasons unknown, it still isn’t as popular as it deserves to be. But interest is growing here at home. This year, 82 kids have participated in Junior Rifle, a strong reminder that we have a dedicated group of local families who value marksmanship skills and the principles of the Second Amendment.
We also held our third annual October Zombie Shoot — always a favorite and a great time for the kids.
A special congratulations goes out to Emma Gniadek for achieving the Marksman Qualification!

Beginning in December there will be no outdoor beginner archery on Sundays until early spring. We'd like to restart indoor archery this winter, and would probably need to be either Sunday or Friday evenings, with juniors from 6-7 and adults from 7-8. We'd love your input on the subject, so contact Bill DiNatale at the link provided below.
If there is interest in making this a JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program, an assistant is needed who is willing to complete the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor program.
An assistant will be needed for whatever program we offer.
Please contact Bill DiNatale with input or for more infomation on assisting by clicking HERE.

Bass River Rod & Gun Club thrives with active member participation. Despite an expanding volunteer base, we face a common challenge - 80% of the work is done by 20% of our members. To realize our full potential, members' time, talents, and dues are essential.
We need your help in filling the following positions:
Archery Instructor & Archery Assistants: If you're an archery instructor, or willing to be trained as an instructor - or, if you are willing to help open and supervise the archery range on an alternating schedule, contact Bill DiNatale by clicking HERE.
Rifle Instructor & Jr. Rifle Assistants: If you're a rifle instructor, or willing to be trained as an instructor to help with the Junior Rifle Program, contact Greg Gnadiek by clicking HERE.
To hear more about these positions, please email us by clicking HERE.

Protect Your Gun Rights - Support The Civil Rights Coalition Massachusetts voters face a tough reality: under our State Constitution, laws can’t be fixed piece by piece. It’s all or nothing. This means that if we don’t take action, H4885/Chapter 135 will remain on the books, with all its harmful consequences. It’s a poorly written law that doesn’t address crimes committed with guns or the never-ending cycle of capture, release, capture, re-release of criminals.
This sweeping law, passed under the pretense of modernization, puts everyday people in impossible situations: Plea Bargaining Gun Charges are still allowed. District Attorneys have zero restrictions on plea bargaining out Gun Offenses, which are often the first charges dropped by DA’s. Prohibits Non-Resident Junior Hunting. How does that stop violent crime? Approximately 21,000 Law Abiding Residents have now been retroactively declared Felons. Previously, to own a semi-automatic shotgun or rifle for duck hunting, required a Firearms ID Card. As of October 2, 2024, those people now need a License to Carry. Mandatory firearm registration—even for family heirlooms or antique hunting equipment. Bans on legally owned magazines, penalizing responsible citizens for items they’ve legally owned for decades. Overcomplicated licensing processes, with limited access to live-fire ranges for training. Extensive, Intrusive tracking databases, targeting lawful citizens while failing to address violent crime. Chemical Defense Sprays need a Firearm License. Why make young women defenseless against attacks? Click HERE To Support The Civil Rights Coalition!
